The next decade promises to be an important one for Generation Z
Starting birth years ranging from the 1990s to early 2000s and ending birth years ranging from the late 2000s to early 2010s

Mentoring is a proven approach to drive rich learning and development for mentees. 1 in 3 young people will grow up without a mentor.

The next decade promises to be an important one for Generation Z. While there are many unanswered questions about what their future holds, we can follow current trends to envision what this group will face in the years ahead. As they begin to enter the workforce, Generation Z entrants face stiff competition along with the likelihood that it will take a decade or more to recover lost earning power from having entered the job market during the Great Recession.

More jobs will require at least some higher education, and be dependent on 21st century skills, such as abilities to think creatively, communicate effectively and work in teams. However, higher education costs are skyrocketing, saddling many students with debt for years after graduation and reducing their overall buying power and quality of life.

GoCoach Pro will work hard to provide direction and advice to these challenges that face Generation Z. The mentoring program is provided by tenured volunteer professionals and executive across numerous industries and geographic locations.

❹ The first system of its kind, developed specifically to maximize the potential of one of today’s most important assets: GEN Z

Online, In-person, Anywhere.
People have asked me over the past 20 years about my mentorship programs, whether in the web design and development field, career bound college students, real estate investment advisors to start-up entrepreneurs. I want to share what I know about mentoring in the business development and internet technology fields. Throughout my career, I’ve built my own advisory board. Whether it’s in my work or outside of my business aspirations, I have created a group of go-to advisors that helped me move forward. Sometimes, this is as simple as bouncing my ideas back-and-forth with these leaders so that I can see a clearer picture of what I may not have comprehended before. Other times, it’s getting encouragement and advice on how to take my next steps. This is the benefit of having a mentor: a good mentor can help you be your best self.

Now, be aware that your mentor is your confidant who gives you direction and options; however, at the end of the day, YOU have to make your own choices. Your mentor isn’t there to tell you whether you have to go into this direction or that direction. You need guidance and that guidance will only help you down the path you choose to take.

Mentoring is a professional activity, a trusted relationship, a meaningful commitment.

Your GoCoach Pro Mentor is an objective, positive supporter. Not everyone is lucky enough to have such a friend or colleague to provide this. If you’ve been doing it solo, try seeing how much more you can accomplish with a mentor!

Investing in People

The role of a mentor is to encourage the personal and professional development of a mentee through the sharing of knowledge, expertise and experience.

The mentoring relationship is built on mutual trust, respect and communication, and involves both parties meeting regularly to exchange ideas, discuss progress and set goals for further development.

Mentoring is more than the transfer of advice, knowledge and insights. The relationship offers reciprocal benefits for mentors willing to invest their time in developing another professional. As well as the personal satisfaction of sharing their skills and experience with a willing learner, being involved in mentoring also provides some tangible benefits that can reward mentors professionally.

Some key benefits for mentors include:

Recognition as a subject matter expert and leader
Exposure to fresh perspectives, ideas and approaches
Extension of their professional development record
Opportunity to reflect on their own goals and practices
Development of their personal leadership and coaching styles

Invest in Yourself

"I see many recent graduates looking to their friends and peers for advice. While this is a good perspective to have, the power of a mentor who can provide a different perspective, relate different leadership experiences, and ask a different set of questions is critically important."

Being mentored is one of the most valuable and effective development opportunities! Having the guidance, encouragement and support of a trusted and experienced mentor can provide a mentee with a broad range of personal and professional benefits, which ultimately lead to improved performance in the workplace and personal life.

For mentees, some key benefits of business mentoring include:

Exposure to new ideas and ways of thinking
Advice on developing strengths and overcoming weaknesses
Guidance on professional development and advancement
Increased visibility and recognition within a company, industry or profession
The opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge
